Increased Trolley Frequency Puts on Brakes Following Booming Season

Increased frequency on routes one, four and seven will end this month, following a successful seasonal term. Trolleys on these routes will return to regularly scheduled operation as of Sept. 30, 2009. Saturday and evening services will remain unaffected. Find more information on these scheduled changes.

Saturday Service is Here!

That’s right; starting June 6, 2009 you can ride Bay Town Trolley six days a week. That’s an extra day for work or play. It’s perfect for students trying to get to summer jobs, families headed to community festivals or anyone just looking to explore Bay County.

All seven routes will run Saturday service on two-hour loops, adhering to the weekday schedule. Route 1 is altered slightly as it will end at Panama City Mall and will not continue to the Marina. Once at the mall Route 1 will become Route 5, which heads to Gulf Coast Community College where passengers can pick up Route 4 and go to the Marina.

Funding for Saturday service is provided by the local municipalities, Bay County, a Florida Department of Transportation Service Development Grant, as well as fare box revenue.
