Public Notice: Trolley’s Detour Day Affects Routes 1 And 4

Bay Town Trolley Routes 1 and 4 will be slightly altered on March 23, 2009 for Detour Day
(Panama City, Fla.) - Bay Town Trolley officials will conduct a Detour Day on Monday, March 23, 2009 for Routes 1 and 4. From 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., Routes 1 and 4 will travel on Magnolia Avenue instead of on Harrison Avenue in downtown Panama City.
The only riders affected by this detour will be those who get off at the following Harrison Avenue stops:
- Route 1: Stops 3/42 and 2/43
- Route 4: Stops 3/41 and 2/42.
The trolley will stop at the Magnolia and 6th Street intersection, as well as the Magnolia and 4th Street intersection, allowing riders to depart. For a full map of the route changes, visit BayTownTrolley.org/Detour.
“We’re conducting this detour day to collect data for a proposed time-saving route change,” said Beth Coulliette, Bay Town Trolley’s executive director. “It’s important to us that we test this with our current riders to see how they are affected by it, prior to implementing any changes.”,/p>
Trolley officials are also asking riders to participate in a survey, explaining how they will be affected by the Detour Day. Riders can complete the paper surveys on board the trolleys beginning Thursday, March 19, 2009. The results from the surveys and the Detour Day will be evaluated and presented to the Transportation Planning Organization, Wednesday, March 25, 2009.
