(Panama City, FL)- Bay Town Trolley officials announced yesterday the names of the "Rider of the Year Award" for 2004.
Hannis and Shirley Adams of Panama City were selected to receive this award for 2004. "We are truly grateful for the Trolley and depend on it everyday," said Hannis Adams. Shirley Adams quickly added, "The drivers have become like friends to us."
Each year the Trolley drivers nominate a frequent rider to receive this award. "This was the first time in the 10 years that the Trolley has been in service that we had a unanimous decision by our drivers" said Doug Boice, General Manager of Bay Town Trolley.
This year the Adams prize package included a free-ride pass for 2005 from Bay Town Trolley, dinner for two at Golden Corral, a Shell Island Cruise from Captain Andersons and a pass to St. Andrews State Park.
"2004 was a great year for Bay Town Trolley. We are pleased to announce that the Trolley shattered every record and our own expectations with 177,098 riders in 2004" said Parker City Mayor and Chairwoman of the Transportation Planning Organization, Brenda Hendricks. "Bay Town Trolley continues to be a vital component of our community."
Bay Town Trolley is celebrating 10 years as an award-winning transit system that serves Bay County, Monday through Friday, with hundreds of stops daily.
